We would be delighted to undertake a custom wildlife carving to your personal
specifications. Our favored
subjects are game fish, songbirds, shore and wading birds, upland game birds,
and small raptors (e.g. American Kestrel), although we will certainly consider
other species. All of our work is done to International competition standards
at the “Open” (Professional) level, in accordance with the rules of the
International Wildfowl & Fish Carving Association
(IWFCA)
My minimum
charge for undertaking a commission is $200 Canadian.
Because of
the vast number of species, each commission is priced on an individual basis;
the final price depending upon the specific bird or fish, the pose, and the
mounting/ habitat desired. A written estimate based upon the specifications, valid for a period of 30 days
is provided. I require a mailing address prior
to preparing an estimate.
If the
estimate is acceptable, it will form part of the standard contract which
needs to be signed prior to commencement of any work. The contract sets out the specifications for the project and
specifies the final contract
price and net shipping charges (see below).
A non refundable deposit equal to 30% of the contract price is required
before any work can be undertaken.
Packing, shipping, insurance and any applicable
customs duties are in addition to the contract price, and are the client's
responsibility. I will obtain alternative quotes and ship in accordance with
the client's specifications upon prepayment of the shipping charges. Payment
can be made ONLY by Certified Cheque or Money Order (US or Canadian
funds are acceptable). You have the opportunity to inspect the piece (via
detailed photographs) prior to painting and again prior
to shipping. You may refuse
the piece at any time, but the deposit is NON REFUNDABLE.
The balance
of the contract price plus shipping charges, is due and payable in full after
approval of the photographs, and prior to delivery.
